Mira Calix is an award winning artist, composer and performer, recognised internationally both for her releases on the Warp label and for multi-disciplinary installations and performances commissioned by the London Sinfonietta, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the National Portrait Gallery.
This artist talk will focus on Calix's recent project, 'The Moving Museum", a public sound work installed in a public bus running daily through Nanjing, China. Created in collaboration with students at Nanjing University, the piece was a response to a collection of Colourfiled paintings curated by Calix.
Sound material from "The Moving Museum" will be exhibited in a surround-sound installation before and after this talk.
Mira Calix travelled to Nanjing as part of the British Council and PRS for Music Foundation’s Musicians in Residence, China programme.
