The Venice Biennale comes to Margate…

See and hear contemporary artists from around the world at Turner Contemporary, during a day of discussion and performance. As part of the Venice Agendas event series and in collaboration with Waugh Office, this event responds to themes of risk and boundaries, as well as cultural and personal borders, inspired by our current Risk exhibition.

Experience live art, and watch artist interviews and performances from Dubai, London, Manchester, Cape Town, Budapest, North Carolina, Mexico City, Chicago and New York, onsite and live streamed through Periscope, screened in our Foyle Rooms and available via Twitter @TCMargate #airedeturner.

How do histories become transfigured through aesthetic reflection and why is the past so critical to marginalised artists? What are the particular issues for, say, diasporic artists? Participants include: Jon Adams, Felicity Allen, David A Bailey, Kimbal Bumstead, Robin Deacon, Blanca De La Torre, Lina Dzuverovic, FakeRichardPrince, Mark Gibson, Tony Heaton, Sonja Ivekovic, Thais Lenkiewicz, Eric Lesdema, Hiromi Nakajima, Tatsumi Orimoto, Richard Parry, Ruth Proctor, Yasmina Raggard, Sheena Rose, Mark Segal, Alina Serban, Iain Sinclair, Siyaziwa, Simon Smith, Terry Smith, JW Stella, Jennifer Thatcher, Jean Wainwright, Mark Waugh, Tony White, Sophie Woolley, Jen Wu and Ala Younis.
