The first in Felicity Allen's series of Dialogic Portraits, Begin Again, currently on show in Turner Contemporary's Learning Studio, involved 76 sitters contributing to a project which involved painting, writing, sitting and speaking. The majority of the sitters had worked with the artist in the previous decade, in the arts higher education and public sector. Following a brief reading by Felicity from her book Begin Again Chronicles, which came out of this project, a panel discussion about dialogic portraits will take place, and the audience, including a number of sitters from the project, will be encouraged to contribute. Chaired by historian of contemporary feminist art, Alexandra Kokoli, speakers include critic and curator Helena Reckitt and two of the 'sitters' who contributed to Begin Again, curator, Paul Goodwin and poet, Carol Watts.

The event will be supported by a performance mirroring the Dialogic Portraits' sittings, by young people who are working alongside Felicity Allen in contributing towards a youth-led public and learning programme by creating a resource to support SMSC in schools to raise awareness of feminist issues.

This event is free, but places must be booked in advance, either by emailing or by phoning 01843 233001
