Today Greg Clark, Financial Secretary to the Treasury and MP for Tunbridge Wells, visited Turner Contemporary.

His visit to Thanet was prompted by the launch of a new Government initiative at the Marlowe Academy in Ramsgate. While at Turner Contemporary he was given a tour of the gallery by Director Victoria Pomery. This visit comes at an optimal time for Turner Contemporary as it prepares to welcome its millionth visitor, an astonishing milestone for a gallery which opened little over 2 years ago and is a testament to its successes so far.
Greg Clark, Financial Secretary to the Treasury and MP for Tunbridge Wells, says:
'I was delighted to have visited Turner Contemporary today. The gallery plays a significant role in the regeneration of Margate and demonstrates the positive impact that the arts can have on its local area and wider community. It is fantastic news to hear that the gallery will soon reach one million visitors and I wish them enormous success for the future.'
