Turner Contemporary are thrilled that St Lawrence College in Ramsgate is supporting Journeys with ‘The Waste Land’ as our Learning Partner. This is the third exhibition that the school has supported, after having supported Self in 2015 and JMW Turner: Adventures in Colour in 2016.

As our Spring 2018 Learning Partner, teachers and pupils from St Lawrence College met the curators and Research Group behind Journeys with ‘The Waste Land’ last year in the lead up to the exhibition. They had an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek at how the exhibition was being curated, and helped form Turner Contemporary’s learning resources for this season.

Senior School pupils at St Lawrence College have been exploring Journeys with ‘The Waste Land’ by creating artwork, music and poetry inspired T. S. Eliot’s poem. We welcomed teachers, pupils and parents to the gallery for a private reception on Saturday 24th February for a special event celebrating the pupils’ creative responses to the poem, including an exhibition, poetry readings and the performance of a brand new composition inspired by The Waste Land.
