  • Dominic Savage, Director True Love filming at Turner Contemporary

A new five-part drama by the acclaimed Director Dominic Savage will be broadcast on BBC One at 10:30pm from 18-22 June.

Dominic Savage met Tracey Emin at the opening of Turner Contemporary in April 2011 where the pair discussed the programme and their relationship to Margate. Dominic Savage was quoted in the Guardian newspaper, saying:

‘She was incredibly emotional about the place, as was I, and she said, 'You've got to make a film here, Dominic, you've just got to.' I thought, 'Yes, this is it!' It was clear I had to do it.’

The programme filmed entirely in Margate explores the themes of love in the modern day and each episode is led by one of the following famous British acting talent: David Tennant, Billie Piper, Jane Horrocks, Ashley Walters and David Morrissey.

Victoria Pomery, Director Turner Contemporary said: ‘It is fantastic that the idea for this ground breaking series developed from a conversation between Tracey Emin and Dominic Savage at the opening of Turner Contemporary and that the gallery features so prominently throughout the series.’

The third story in the series is set in part at Turner Contemporary sees Billie Piper visiting the gallery and viewing exhibitions; Nothing in the World But Youth (17 September 2011 - 8 January 2012), Auguste Rodin, The Kiss (1901-04) and Daniel Buren’s, Borrowing and Multiplying the Landscape, work in situ (2011).
