In 14 months, GB Pizza has raised £1378 for Turner Contemporary’s world-renowned learning programme, from selling 2,756 “We love Turner Contemporary” pizzas. 50p from every sale went directly to the gallery. Turner Contemporary would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at GB Pizza who have supported the gallery so enthusiastically.

Since the gallery opened in 2011, Turner Contemporary’s world-class learning programme has inspired over 39,000 children through workshops, special tours and collaborative projects.

GB Pizza’s new charity pizza this year will donate 50p from each sale directly to The Brain Tumour Charity (link: Brain tumours are the biggest killer of people under 40 and they are the most under-funded of cancers.

Supporting The Brain Tumour Charity is a personal choice for GB Pizza: “Our co-founder and owner, Rachel Seed, has been battling a brain tumour for 12 years. At the end of last year, we got some really rubbish news: the tumour had made another return, this time more aggressive than ever. She has already had four rounds of brain surgery plus radiotherapy, and is now undergoing chemotherapy. We will – Rachel, our family, friends, and our GB•PIZZA•CO® family – keep fighting and keep hoping. By supporting this amazing charity that, as well as offering support to patients, also funds much-needed pioneering research and medical trials, we hope this horrible disease will be beaten. The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours. We hope that our customers will help us raise much-needed funds for this incredibly important charity that relies 100% on voluntary donations.”

GB Pizza is based on Margate’s seafront, overlooking Margate Sands and only a 5 minute walk from Turner Contemporary. Head down there to try their tasty pizzas and support an important charity.
