We are seeking a Facilities Assistant/Cleaner to work closely with the Estates, Facilities & IT Manager to ensure that the building, its facilities, external areas and the gallery environment are maintained to the highest possible standards to provide a first class visitor experience.
The role requires experience of cleaning and basic building maintenance. You should be reliable, a good time keeper and be practical, resourceful and proactive.
The Assistant/Cleaner will have responsibility for general cleaning and building maintenance.
Turner Contemporary is seeking a part-time (32 hours per week) Facilities Assistant/Cleaner to join our team.
Facilities Assistant/Cleaners are a vital part of the team working to ensure the continuing success of Turner Contemporary as a pioneering visual arts organisation, and consistently delivering the highest quality of visitor experience to all.
Facilities Assistant/Cleaners work pro-actively to ensure an exceptional welcome and high standard of service to every visitor and staff member at Turner Contemporary.
As a Facilities Assistant/Cleaner, you will carry out daily cleaning duties throughout the gallery to an impeccable standard. You will assist with maintenance schedules, carrying out checks and any necessary procedures, organising and carrying out window, skylight, roof and façade cleaning. You will also operate relevant cleaning equipment including, but not limited to, vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, jet washers and window cleaning systems.
You will play an important part in shaping the visitor experience we provide whilst keeping the safety of the artworks and our visitors a top priority.
