The Great Art Quest 2011/12, sponsored by GAM, introduces children from 16 primary schools in the UK to the visual arts by partnering them with local galleries, professional artists and storytellers. For many of these children this will be their first experience of visual arts in a professional gallery setting.

Four schools in Margate and Ramsgate are working with artist Tracey Falcon and storyteller Emily Parrish of Scandalmongers to create an exhibition in response to Nothing in the World But Youth on the theme of 'territory'.  The works that they create will be exhibited in the Clore Learning Studio 8 - 19 February.

'An appreciation of the visual arts is not innate, it is acquired. Exposure is the first step towards its appreciation. The Great Art Quest is that first step for many of its participants.'
Andy Hanges, CEO, GAM (UK) Ltd
