What is it like to grow up and live by the sea today?  As part of Children & the Arts’ Start Programme, Turner Contemporary has worked with Coastal Alliance schools to explore this question through photography and local history.  Over 450 children and young people across schools in Whitstable, Herne Bay and Reculver have taken inspiration from The South East Archive of Seaside Photography (SEAS), examining how people lived and spent their holidays by the coast in the past and reimagining these to capture the seaside from new perspectives.

Participating Schools: Briary Primary School, Herne Bay High School, Herne Bay Infant School, Herne Bay Junior School, Herne CE Infant & Nursery School, Herne CE Junior School, Joy Lane Primary School, Reculver CE Primary School, Swalecliffe Community Primary School, St Alphege CE Infant School, St Marys Catholic Primary School, Westmeads Community Infant School, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CE Junior School, The Whitstable School, Whitstable Junior School.
