Seeking inspiring activities and things to do this Half Term? Come to the gallery and explore our latest exhibition, get creative in our Easy Holiday workshops, take a walk along the beach with views of the sea and come for lunch or ice cream in our cafe. There’s something to do whatever the weather.

Here are 5 things you can do at the gallery this Half Term:

1. Explore the exhibition

Come and explore Every Day is a New Day at Turner Contemporary with the family this Half Term. The show brings together the work of Phyllida Barlow, Michael Armitage, JMW Turner and children from Kent and Africa.

Entry is free. Free tours are taking place from Wednesday – Friday at 2.30pm as well as Saturday and Sunday at 11.30am.

2. Enjoy lunch and a cake in our cafe following a walk along the beach

Walk along the beach and enjoy tea and cake in our cafe. As well as sea views and seasonal ingredients, there’s a special children’s menu and ice creams on offer too.

3. Join one of our workshops

Join us for Easy Holiday: Topsy-Turvy Towers on Thursday 1st June, or our Family Workshop on Sunday 4 June, all in the Clore Learning Studio. Create your own artwork and keep it forever! Free for CT9 Residents.

4. Create your own sculpture

‘Creativity is contagious… pass it on.” – Albert Einstein

Our making table on the balcony is there for visitors of any age to create their own sculpture. Ask the gallery assistants if you need some help or inspiration!

5. Enjoy some retail therapy in our shop

From crafting kits, art supplies and costumes for kids to jewellery, summer scarves and an eclectic array of products made in Margate – you’ll be spoilt for choice in the gallery shop.

Be inspired

On Saturday 8 July, join our 80 Young Art Leaders as they reveal four artworks on four separate plots across Margate. There is a set walking trail if you want to visit them all. At each site you’ll discover singing, music and art and craft workshops. Come be inspired by this extraordinary community experience.
