Writer and broadcaster Matthew Collings (This is Modern Art, Channel 4) interviews American artist Alex Katz about his new exhibition and prolific career, on the opening day of his new exhibition for Turner Contemporary Give Me Tomorrow.

Alex Katz is America’s most important and respected living artist, with a career spanning an incredible six decades. His work, and a selection he chosen from the Tate Collection, are on display at Turner Contemporary from 6 October 2012 – 13 January 2013.

Matthew Collings is a writer, broadcaster, artist and critic. He is well known for writing and presenting the award-winning Channel 4 TV series This is Modern Art, as well as Channel 4’s coverage of the Turner Prize. His most recent work includes the BBC programme Turner’s Thames. Watch a clip from Turner’s Thames here.

Special opening day hours 12.30 - 8pm
On Saturday 6 October, Turner Contemporary opens at 12.30pm and stays open late until 8pm, to celebrate the opening of Alex Katz: Give Me Tomorrow.
