Since opening in April, we have trialled opening hours of 10am - 7pm, with a later closing time of 10pm every Friday. We have monitored visitor figures during this period and noted that even on our busiest days the gallery is very quiet from 6pm.

From Monday 5 September 2011, the gallery will close at 6pm Tuesday to Sunday. The gallery will remain closed on Mondays (except bank holidays) to allow for regular cleaning and repair work to take place.

We are keen to give visitors a chance to experience an evening at the gallery and so we will remain open until 10pm on the last Friday of each month as part of our Late Night Live programme of music, dance and activities. 

Note: Gallery closures during installation period of Nothing in the World But Youth.

From Monday 5 to Thursday 15 September, the first floor gallery spaces (North, South, West, Irene Willet and Balcony) will be closed to the public for the installation of Nothing in the World But Youth. During this period the downstairs Sunley Gallery, shop and café will remain open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm. The café will be open as usual for Dinner on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 September from 6-10pm.

Turner Contemporary will be closed to the public on Friday 16 September. The café however will be open for Dinner between 6 and 8pm and 8.30-10.30pm.  

We will reopen at 10am on Saturday 17 September for the opening of Nothing in the World But Youth.
