Artist Teacher Scheme Summer School 2009
"It has stretched me conceptually and technically, enabling a re-engagement and way forward for my work."
Twenty one delegates attended the course in the 2009 summer, coming from Kent, East Sussex, Surrey, London and Gloucestershire. The teachers were offered the opportunity to work in print, casting and digital photography. In addition to the specialist studio time, the artist teachers took part in 'wake up workshops' led by artist Sara Wicks which explored mark-making, life drawing and installation.
"I have so many ideas to go and put into practice. Made me consider myself as an artist first, teacher second which was getting lost."
The option to work across more than one medium this year resulted in a very positive and creative atmosphere with the teachers able to share ideas and thoughts with one another as well as Sara Wicks and the technicians.

The delegates engaged in on-going discussion with one another about their work and were also offered the opportunity for tutorials with Sara Wicks and artist, writer and curator Jeremy Millar.
