Turner Contemporary is a stunning building that offers venue hire opportunities for weddings, private and corporate events.

Its coastal location offers breath-taking sea views from east to west that JMW Turner famously described as being '… the loveliest skies in all Europe.'

Perfect for meetings and conferences, drinks receptions and wedding ceremonies, Turner Contemporary offers a versatile, stylish and modern solution. Not only will guests have an unforgettable experience, but as a registered charity, all revenue will help us sustain and grow our programme of exhibitions, education and events, reaching out to the community.

Our Foyle Rooms and Clore Learning Studio, both available for hire, offer unrivalled views out to sea - the perfect backdrop for the occasion.

Wedding ceremony package
Our wedding ceremony packages include everything to make your special occasion a perfect experience, for you and your guests.

We can host a variety of celebration options, from ceremony only, drinks and canapés receptions, buffet meals to full formal dining. Our rooms can seat up to 120 people theatre style for ceremonies and 120 banquet style for receptions.

Ceremonies can take place between 10am and 6pm. Photography is welcome in the rooms for hire and on the Foyle Rooms terrace.

Spaces for Hire

The Foyle Rooms/Clore Learning Studio
This flexible multi-purpose space can accommodate up to 120 people theatre style and up to 120 cabaret style. It can also be subdivided into three separate rooms for smaller meetings/events.

It is located on the ground floor of the gallery with spectacular views of the sea through floor to ceiling windows and doors that lead out to an outside terrace. The room has state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and dedicated event furniture.
Our learning studio is on the first floor of the building and has stunning views along the harbour and on towards Reculver. It can accommodate the same numbers as the Foyle Rooms but cannot be split down into smaller sections.
All hire costs include basic front of house staff costs, event chairs/tables and cleaning and the use of all AV and IT equipment.

Foyer / Events Space / Galleries
Every Monday (except for Bank Holidays) it will be possible to hire a combination of the entrance Foyer, The Foyle Rooms and Galleries.
The building will normally be closed on Mondays, so this represents a rare opportunity to host an event where guests can enjoy the building privately. This offers a sense of exclusivity that can be utilised for product launches, fashion shows or corporate entertaining. Using the building this way can accommodate up to 600 people for an informal canapé reception.
There are discounts for registered charities, local and community groups across all areas of our venue hire offer.

Catering
Our onsite caterer can offer a variety of menus to suit any budget.
